Hello everyone. I hope you all have been taking advantage of this summer weather like we have. I am notorious for looking for new things to try out and to do. Luckily, Mark has a very inspirational and creative mind, and he found a fun way we could both exercise together.

A few weeks ago, he was looking online for E Bikes. Since we are both watching our blood sugars and keeping hypertension at bay, this has turned out to be a very enjoyable adventure together. We went to the SE Portland area and came home with two E Bikes. They are battery assisted which comes in handy for peddling uphill and for long rides. I don’t use the battery assist as often because I enjoy the workout, but when I do, it is a godsend, especially when my legs are feeling the strain.

We recently enjoyed a ride on our bikes to Willow Grove, which is approximately 18 miles from our place. The battery assist came in handy that day, since it was a long ride for us. It is something I will enjoy doing again. It also brings about a certain sense of freedom we had enjoyed as children, and it is a pure joy to feel the wind blowing on our faces and hair. I have found that cycling has been a very good mood booster, and has helped me stay fit without feeling like a chore.

Mark’s favorite part is when he will lead us to the closest place to eat, because… let’s face it, the man loves food. All in all, I highly recommend this and hope this method of transportation becomes a more popular alternative in our society.
