When you are chronically ill making healthy meals takes away a lot of the energy spoons you have. That makes eating poorly easy and horrible at the same time. When you eat TV dinners many are high calorie, full of sodium, and other things that do not fuel the body. I have been purchasing some frozen meals that are healthier and fuel my body well. Recently, I discovered Primal Kitchen Chicken Pesto. Before I write what I think about it I will share the nutritional facts with you.

Nutritional facts:

  • Calories: 460 1 serving is in the container
  • Total fat: 39 grams
  • Saturated fat: 6 grams
  • Trans fat: 0
  • Cholesterol: 50 mg
  • Sodium: 810 mg
  • Carbs: 10 grams
  • Dietary fiber: 5 grams
  • Total sugars: 4 grams
  • Added sugars: 0
  • Protein: 18 grams

The Ingredients are:

  • Riced cauliflower
  • Cooked dark meat chicken
  • Broccoli
  • Yellow zucchini
  • Organic extra virgin olive oil
  • Organic almond butter
  • Garlic puree
  • Salt
  • Organic lemon juice
  • Organic black pepper

Although, this has a lot of salt, it is still less than many TV Dinners. I found this meal satisfying. I did not taste the almond butter in this. I think it was a good substitute for cheese. It was surprising to me. While eating it felt like I was eating a home cooked meal.

When I have eaten other brand name TV dinners you could tell they were overly processed. With the Primal Kitchen Chicken Pesto, it did not seem that way. The food came in a paper bowel that could be recycled. There was no plastic at all. It was cool. I have never seen anything like that. This meal cost $7.99 and it was worth the price. This would be a good meal to have for those pain days when cooking is not an option.

Primal Kitchen’s website is amazing. If you go on their site, you can receive a twenty percent discount on your purchase and they have lot of products to choose from. They also have a section for recipes you can make at home. They also have other meal choices for you to try.

I purchased this product at Walmart Market Side. The opinions I express are my own and I was not influenced.
