My name is Jamie Holloway and I am on my way to becoming a bariatric patient. My surgery is scheduled for March 20th, 2020. This means my life is changing. It’s been a long process of changing habits and letting go of my old life as an obese person. One of the things I have to do now is take vitamins, especially those that are geared towards bariatric patients. The reason for this is because my stomach will be smaller and I won’t be able to get enough nutrients from the food that I eat. I chose to try Bari-Melts a brand that I found on Amazon. They are chewable. I have a trach so giant pills are hard for me to swallow. When I do have the surgery I will need chewable because they are easier to absorb.

After my surgery I will need to add more vitamins to my regimine, especially in the chewable kind like Bari-Melts.

Bari-Melts some great options for bariatric patients besides a multivitamin that I hope to include in my wellness journey. These are:
  • Iron and Vitamin C
  • Calcium (chewable) yeah this makes me happy. Regular calcium is so big that I choke to death while trying to swallow them.
  • B-12
  • Biotin
  • And of course their multi vitamin
I have noticed an increase in my energy levels since I have started taking these vitamins. They are a bit sour and do not taste good, but medication shouldn’t taste good anyway. It defeats the purpose, in my opinion. Medication should not taste like candy. I’m happy with this product and I recommend these to any bariatric patient that needs a good vitamin to take.  Currently, they are 25 dollars on Amazon, but I have noticed that if you buy directly from the company they have a promo code to get a discount. I will include a link to Amazon and to Bari-Melts website.

If you would like help with your own bariatric journey I have a support group called Life Shakers on Facebook you are welcome to become a part of. Also, Karen Clemenson from Wellness Works NW is available anytime for a consultation on how she can aid you on your journey.

Be well my friends.
