Barb Berg was a contributor to Wellness Works NW and writer of Celiac Living. Barb is from Ellensburg, Washington and was living in the Kelso, Washington area with her husband and adult children while she wrote for us. She lived an active life that includes her family and her horses and working with Cowlitz AmeriCorps. After she retired she moved with her husband to Arizona where it is warm and they have more specialists available to help her husband with his medical needs.
Barb lives with Celiac Disease, a hereditary autoimmune disorder, that causes damage to the lower intestine from eating foods with gluten in it. Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley and rye. In 2016 she also underwent knee replacement surgery. Both of these experiences has caused her to make many changes to her life.
